• 1995-2001:  Participated in the Sexually Transmitted Infections Project. ICOBI carried out IEC activities mainly targeting youth and women. ICOBI visited over 50 post primary secondary schools with STI film shows and formed anti STI clubs in those schools.
  • 1998-1999:  Received support from The Brush Foundation to implement a Family Health Project. Conducted sensitization/health education seminars on Adolescent health, MCH/Family Planning, STD/HIV/AIDS, malaria and nutrition.
  • 1999-2001: Lead Agency for the Nutrition and Early Childhood Development Project (NECDP): ICOBI was contracted by the Ministry of Health to be the Implementing Lead Agency for the World Bank funded Nutrition and Early Childhood Development Project (NECDP). ICOBI worked in close financial and operational partnership with the District Local Government, the National Technical Assistance (NTA) and the Project Co-ordination office. ICOBI built nutritional resource centres that are currently operational, trained and equipped sub-county facilitators’ village child care workers (CCW).
  • 2004-2005:  Worked as a Lead CSO to supervise the implementation of World Bank funded Community Led HIV/AIDS Initiatives (CHAI) sub-projects on behalf of the Uganda HIV/AIDS Control Project (UACP). Mobilized over 80 CBO’s and other community groups to access funds for supporting HIV/AIDS affected and afflicted OVCs.
  • 2001-2004: ICOBI with support from the Ministry of Health, Elizabeth Glaser Pediatrics AIDS Foundation (EGPAF), and AIM and Bushenyi local government implemented a two-year VCT and PMTCT Programme to prevent the transmission of HIV from mothers to their children in 15 health units.
  • 2004-2007: Lead Agency in the UGFATM – HIV/AIDS and HIV/AIDS/OVC Round 3 components: ICOBI implemented in the districts of Bushenyi, Kanungu, Rukungiri, Kabale, Kisoro, Ntungamo, Mbarara, Isingiro, Kiruhura and Ibanda. ICOBI had the overall technical and management of the project, especially in the areas of quality improvement, capacity building and managing partner sub-grants
  • 2005-2007: Implemented the Full Access Home Based District Wide Door –Door Confidential VCT with support from CDC. Under this program, more than 250,000 were offered HIV testing in their homes. About 12,000 people found HIV positive were provided with preventive basic care.  The health system in Bushenyi District was strengthened to continue care and support for the HIV infected. The collaboration involved 90 public and private health units.
  • 2008-2011: ICOBI implemented the OVC Empower project that was funded by USAID. The organisation partnered with Ankole Diocese and supported 19,188 with comprehensive package of 8 core program areas.
  • 2009-2011: ICOBI built the capacity of 7 sub partners (IHP, IRYODI, ICOTEST, GIRAMATSIKO, RUTOTO, MCRP and KCRC) in its Community Based Action Program to Reduce HIV/AIDS/STI Prevalence project in Bushenyi district.
  • 2011-2013: The organisation took part in the implementation of Global Fund Round 7 and supported HIV prevention, treatment and care. ICOBI trained 90 health workers from private and public facilities in STD management, 20 in couple HIV Counselling and Testing, 20 in Paediatric and adolescent packages and also 20 health workers in comprehensive ART management.
  • 2008-2013ICOBI has implemented the CDC funded Full Access Home based Counselling and Testing in six central districts of Mubende, Mityana, Luwero, Nakaseke, Nakasongola and Wakiso to mitigate the impact of HIV in the mentioned districts by providing HCT services to all adults and children at risk of HIV infection in the same districts by 2013.
  • 2008-2013: Community PMTCT: This five year program has worked to contribute towards the improvement of child survival through increasing the uptake of prevention of mother to child HIV transmission services and providing care & support to infected parents and children using home based community strategies. ICOBI developed a communication handbook for health workers and community leaders. ICOBI recruited and trained community owned resource persons to ensure HIV+ mothers’ follow up for EID and adherence.
  • 2010-2015: Strengthening Uganda’s Systems for Treating AIDS Nationally (SUSTAIN) project. ICOBI together with partners is providing quality HIV/AIDS care, treatment and laboratory services at 12 Regional Referral Hospitals which include Hoima Regional Referral Hospital that is partnering with ICOBI in this proposal, and 6 general hospitals in Uganda. In addition, ICOBI is working to strengthen facility-community linkages and to improve referral networks between facilities and communities. It is also helping to strengthen a continuum of care for PLHIV who access services at these supported facilities.
  • 2013-2015: USAID Uganda Good Life Integrated HIV Counselling and Testing Kampala city. This unique urban program is working to increase access to, coverage of, and utilisation of HIV/TB prevention, care, and treatment services within Kampala district health facilities and their respective communities. ICOBI is implementing this program in partnership with Uganda Health Marketing Group (UHMG) and John Hopkins University.
  • 2016: ICOBI emerges as 2nd Runner Up in the Uganda HIV/AIDS Leadership Awards 2016 Under the “National NGO” Category.
